(b. 1988, Navojoa, Mexico) María Mayoral Moreno is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker based between Frankfurt, Madrid and Mexico City. She holds a master’s degree in Executive Production (ECAM | Spain) a bachelor in Film and Television (Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión | Mexico) and spent a year studying at Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen München (Germany) at the Documentary Film Department. 

 

Her visual approach is deeply influenced by her interest in poetry, painting, dance and the oneiric world. María likes to create unique pieces working across diverse techniques to explore complex themes such as dynamics in romantic relationships, the passage of time and the notion of self. 

 

With over 10 years of international experience, María has had the opportunity to develop her audiovisual work through the obtaining of regional funds and the attendance to artistic residency programs in Mexico, Germany and Poland. 

 

Her art and short films have been showcased in various film festivals and galleries across the globe.
